Azul

Responsibilities: concept, design

Designing a logo for Azul—like any entrepreneurial start-up—provided a unique challenge: How to create a visual identity that will be used on everything from product labels to web banners to vehicle wraps? With a sea of infinite potential, I reframed the challenge as an exercise in informed simplicity, conceptualizing, and designing a versatile logo that is both new and exciting with hopes of becoming familiar and friendly to the end user.

Thorough research was conducted to understand Azul’s target market, competitor logos, and the perception of cleaning in the industry. Insights helped in identifying key elements crucial for the new logo.

Multiple design concepts were developed, exploring visual elements associated with science, nature, and professionalism. Concepts were translated into digital mock-ups experimenting with color, typography, and iconography related to science and cleaning.

Designs were presented to stakeholders for feedback. Iterative revisions were made based on their input, ensuring the logo aligned with Azul’s image while remaining versatile and memorable.

Round one: I present the options in black and white. I explored ways to combine the ideas of science, nature, and cleaning. The name was derived as part of their mission to set a new standard in cleaning services.

During round two, I refined the logo choices by keeping some from the previous round and adding variations of the drop.

In round three, there was further refinement, a name change, and a new tagline.
